Vastarian: The Eater of Saints

God gave me no name.

The figure hunches at the end of the table, smiling as it cracks bones and tears flesh. Its very presence is discomfiting, stained with the agony of countless psykers.

“A plague of Saints?”

The figure chuckles, and meat and bone shards spray from its maw.

“You do know how to keep me satiated, Inquisitor…"

The Beast smiles once more and it is that ancient and terrible grin that has haunted her nightmares for the last decade.

She nods, and begins her briefing.

The Eater of Saints has been unleashed upon Vastarian to quell the emergence of troublesome Saints and False-Beatii. It will find much upon the planet’s surface to slake his hunger…

To our delight, our good friend Nick (@k0rdhal), unable to attend our Vastarian event later this month, decided to create a model to be used as an NPC:

The Eater of Saints, Curse Blackened Methuselah, Devourer of Souls. Ward of the Ordos Hereticus. A Post-human sustained by a thrice cursed Empyric-Nanoteuch interface, requiring him to devour the flesh and bones of Psykers to sustain his ancient and twisted frame. They were Old when Man once more sought the Stars, and has served the Ordos Hereticus for millennia. A pact with a veritable devil, but one that has helped quell the emergence of 'inconvenient' Saints, whilst sustaining the Eater's Immortal frame....

Very little of this terrible being is remotely human, save a single watery blue eye, betraying an infinite melancholy.

Empyric-Nanoteuch interface - allows them to channel the consumed power of Psykers to renew their cells:
They have a 4+ save and regenerate D3 wounds at the End Phase of each turn.

Absolute Terror Field - the Eater of Saints projects a field of psychic agony and despair, filling nearby psykers’ heads with the pained cries of their innumerable victims:
A psyker/Saint needs to pass a Cool check to target the Eater of Saints in any way. If they fail they cannot complete the action and lose it. The Eater of Saints can negate any psychic power targeting them on a 5+.

Their essence sustains It: If the Eater of Saints takes an enemy psyker out of action in close combat, it must spend its next Basic action to devour the psyker. Afterwards, until the start of their next turn, the Eater of Saints gains +1 to movement and +1 to their Attacks.

This monstrosity of the Ordos Hereticus stalks the streets of Vastarian, making its way to the windswept Ravachol, its domineering hyper-radial lighthouse.
