Vastarian: Elocutors

I have fought with the shadows on the edge of your vision. I have seen the faces that laugh at you in your nightmares.

 

Discontent and resentment lie within the crowded streets and chapel-slums of Vastarian. Innumerable sects disagree over sacrament and rite almost as a matter of pride. While these creed-based disagreements were once tolerated, they have now boiled into violence since the psychic turmoil  of “The “Emergence of Saints”. The Ecclesiarchy on Vastarian established a devout sect of templars for crises of faith that the Adeptus Arbites were not enough to quell: the Elocutors. Clad in silvered platemail, their faces hidden behind helmets of glossy black, they enforce the Pax Terra, eradicating all they deem as heretics to the Emperor’s word.

Bill Ford (the_ruin.501), who is helping us run a Vastarian event in November, had an idea of creating a conclave of holy knights that worked alongside the Adeptus Arbites to ensure peace on Vastarian. From this concept, he created the Elocutors. He converted a handful of these holy warriors based on Stormcast Eternal models, using sinister domed helmets 3D sculpted by Jon Davies (jp_miniatures). Bill shipped the models to us to be painted, but Adam spent some time doing some additional conversion and sculpting work to minimize the Stormcast look and add some additional character to the models.

The Elocutors were primarily converted from Stormcast Eternal models, using sinister domed helmets 3D sculpted by Jon Davies (jp_miniatures).

The models have shields based on the Van Saar energy shields. Some sculpting work and additional small pieces make it look as though a lighthouse adorns the shields.

The Elocutors’ polearms are tipped with chain blades from the Adeptus Titanicus Knight models.

The lion shoulder pad was reworked to represent a mythical one eyed creature.

Various small parchments were added to the Elocutors, fashioned from foil off of wine bottles.

Clocks were sculpted primarily from green stuff, with Tamiya Quick Type putty being used to add additional details and folds.

I have smelt the foetid breath that issues from the mouth of hell itself. I have heard the silent voices that make your spine tingle with dread.
