The Church of the Red Athenæum: finishing touches

Our future ends here.

Over the last few months I have been working on a few models for the Church of the Red Athenæum, namely a Genestealer Neophyte conversion and a ratling sniper for the Olden Demon painting contest. Despite largely finishing the models due their respective posts, I decided I wanted to go back to the models to add some finishing touches to the models, like painting some iconography and replacing the ratling's base to better fit with the rest of the warband. After putting the process off for some time, I finally pushed myself to do it and with a little effort, am really happy with the results!

I painted the Red Church's blood filled hourglass on the halfling's rifle.

The rifle's scope lens was painted green to contrast the red of the warband.

The original Goblin Green base from the Olden Demon contest was replaced with a more industrial base.

Years after the release of the Genestealer neophytes, we have finally finished painting one!

I spent some time on his shoulder pads, with this one weathered and cracking.

While a little tricky to see, I took care to paint on the treading on the sole of his raised boot.

The neophyte has the Church's hourglass painted on their shoulder pad.

While the 2016 Red Church primarily had knives and close combat weapons, these newer ones are prepared for war, firearms raised.

Dreams of Vastarien rise on collective winds and war calls.
