Mordheim, Games Workshop’s Old World skirmish game, will turn 20 years old in 2019. To celebrate this achievement, Alexander Winberg from Echoes of Imperium is hosting a collaborative event to explore what has happened to the City of the Damned in these 20 long years. In this episode we talk about the event and some of our ideas for warbands that could take part in it.

Well this is exciting news! Really looking forward to seeing where you guys go with this miniatures. So many talented hobbyists are involved so I am sure that the event will be one to remember!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is sure to be something special! It will be great to see the internet flooded with Old World models!
DeleteInteresting...not sure if it's coincidence (I didn't realise it was the 20th anniversary until I saw Alexander's blog post) but I have been working on Mordheimn myself and am even attending a local tournament today!
ReplyDeleteMordheim was all based on 5th ed Warhammer rules so the combat is taken in turns with the person who charged hitting first and then combat in initiative order in subsequent turns. I actually saw Tuomos Pirinen who wrote the game say his only regret about it was that he had to base all the core mechanics on 5th ed (I don't think that's a problem myself).
Anyway, one of GW's best and most visionary games, so looking forward to seeing what you all do with it...the idea to move the timeline on 20 years has some very interesting potential!
That is awesome that you are playing Mordheim again! I hope you had a great time with it and will continue to play it. It is certainly one of GW's best games, in terms of imagery.
