The God-machines go to war. |
In this episode, we discuss the recent Warhammer Fest and the various announcements made during the event. While we mention the new Nighthaunt army and the upcoming version 2 of Age of Sigmar, our primary focus is on the first Sister of Battle model shown, and the new Adeptus Titanicus game.

Good episode as usual, gentlemen. I have to say Adeptus Titanicus is one release I will definitely be picking up, since they went plastic. I think it will be good to have a game with different mechanics to 40K/AoS and titans just make sense in that small scale, whereas to play them in 40K you'd really need a table the size of a football pitch for it to make any sense whatsoever. I also loved the new Sister, and I have been anti plastic sisters for a long time, mainly because I don't want the old classics to go off sale (and how could Jes Goodwin's versions ever be bettered??) but it looks good. The face is not as good as the old ones, which is a major issue for all new GW releases: no one does faces as well as Goodwin. I note your comments about still keeping the (slightly sexist) look, but it's so classic and iconic how could they move away from it really? Hopefully none will be in finecast... I really wanted the canoness they released a while back but I won't buy resin.
ReplyDeleteI am really excited that the titans were made in plastic too. It might have delayed FW from making other things, but I still think it was the right decision. If they were made of resin I wouldn't be interested int he game at all.
DeleteExcellent as always guys! I found myself a little perplexed by the new Adeptus Soroitas model they presented. While I had expected myself to hate the model with them keeping the breast plate. I think this model actually captures the idea of what most people argue when we discuss removing the breast molded plate. If done right it does give a "Valkyrie" like appearance and I think having seen a model where the breast size is not insanely exaggerated conveys that pretty well and I can get behind that. I dont think they all need Fleur di lis etched over each cup as that will lead to sizing issues even more but overall I am fine with this newly presented model. No on the other hand I am insanely stoked for Adeptus Titanicus, I dont think I will be interested in the Horus Heresy setting side of things much but the models themselves will definitely come in handy down the road.
